the passing of the petrol head …

Industrial glass, soil, moss
7cm x 5cm, 2019
On 19/02/2019 I scrapped my internal combustion engined car and have lived without one since, after 40 years of driving. A hard choice for a self confessed petrol head ( I had my first motorbike by 11yrs old). Moss growing on the car’s side window frame was placed in a recycled industrial glass vessel (miners lamp safety glass in this instance) to create a living momento to the past pleasures of petrol.

Make your own. Source a second hand glass vessel. Plant moss found on your car in soil and water occasionally, leave in a sunlit place. Scrap your car.
