Artist model basics…

Wooden artist hand models, red/blue/yellow/black pastels, acrylic Cyan/Magenta/Yellow cube. 2021
Growing up I had little contact with contemporary art, didn’t engage with it at school past the age of eleven, frankly thought it was nonsense. Saw an advert one day for a university job that paid three times my current work (as a cleaner), started at 9 am (rather than 6.45 am) and I could sit down most of the day. The Artist Model. After a couple of years full time work I started to understand what art was about, took a degree in it, eventually became the Head of Fine Art at the same university. Still learning, still think arts occasionally nonsense, until I educate myself; and that’s a good thing.

Anyway, Art Basics 1, from the artist’s model: Colour can be formed by wavelength addition or subtraction.
