Still from a 1989 performance art work shown at the Sheffield Media Show at Sheffield City Polytechnic. Like many performances at that time it probably had an audience of five, lasted too long and was never repeated. I think it was about the hollowness of romantic gestures in heterosexual relationships; an essential ennui of a young man.
This slide image, taken by Shirley MacWilliam, captures the physical elements of the work. I am now told that it looks very romantic; just confirming that I failed in my original aim. Artwork documentation repurposed.
